If this does not work please the notes below on Anti Virus Software.

I registered and used my E-book but now I get a message saying it has expired, why?

The E-book is used in conjunction with the workbook and is designed to operate for the Junior Certificate Cycle, it will expire after three years. Error Messages

Error Message: "Dear customer, the registration key is incorrect, please try again!"

Solution: This is a registration problem and you may be entering the wrong registration key or possible provided the wrong Machine ID.

1) Check you have sent the correct Machine ID and Disc ID. Sample Machine ID: 310061751629332345, Sample Disc ID: S-001 or AG-001

2) Ensure you are entering the correct registration key. The registration keys are case sensitive so can be easily misread on certain fonts (and on mobile devices).

3) Ensure you are entering the correct registration key with no spaces either at the start or the end of the key.

Best Practice: Copy and paste from email to reduce typos etc.
Copy the machine ID from the registration box and paste into an email with the Disc ID, send this to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
If possible copy directly from the registration box to the email (do not save in excel, if you must save the number use word/notepad etc).

After registration copy the E-book file from the disc onto your computer, retain the disc for future installations if necessary.

Note: The registration keys are dependent on the computer the E-book is being used on, each computer requires a different registration key, make sure you get the machine ID off the computer you want to use the e-book on.

Error Message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item" or Warnings from Antivirus Software"

Solution: This is an issue with your Antivirus software blocking the e-book. All files are scanned and checked before distribution.
Unfortunately, Antivirus programs are not perfect, and in many times they detect innocent software as infected with a Trojan or virus. This problem is known as 'False Positive' or 'False Alert', and it's quite common in .exe files.
To prevent these issues ensure you are running the most updated version of your Antivirus Software. Older versions with outdated virus databases may block the file from running and cause problems.
1) Ensure you have updated your Antivirus Software, current virus databases for AVG and Microsoft Security Essential do not detect the E-book as a virus.
2) If you cannot update your virus database the E-book.exe file needs to be added your security exceptions list. On the disc you will find a help folder. Within this folder you will find detailed instructions on how to add the e-book to security exceptions for a variety of Antivirus Programs. Print and follow the instructions relating to your antivirus software and the issue should be resolved, full phone and email support is provided if you need extra assistance.
For additional support & assistance with antivirus software look on the disc for the help folder or contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Error messages about 64bit MS Office Products

In 64bit windows system, MS PowerPoint Viewer 2010 cannot be installed if any 64 bit MS Office products have been installed. In this case, an online version is available for use.

Error Message: “Your E-book has expired please contact DCG Solutions for renewal....."

Solution 1) Your E-book may have expired - The electronic book and A3 workbook are designed to be used for a two year period corresponding to the Leaving Cert Cycle. The e-book will run for a cycle of two years.
Solution 2) Check that the system time and date on the computer are correct; if these have been changed the E-book will list as expired.
You should be able to access this from the bottom right corner of the screen, or from the Control Panel,
to access the control panel press the windows flag button on the left of the tab the runs along the bottom of the screen.
Ensure the time and date are correct or choose “Synchronize with Internet Time”

Anti Virus Software

Due to the nature of executable files some Anti Virus software’s may popup warnings on security, to prevent these issues ensure you are running the most updated version of your Antivirus Software. Older versions with outdated virus databases may block the file from running and result in some of the problems listed below.

Many of these problems can be solved by updating your antivirus software or by adding the e-book to an exceptions list within your antivirus software (you will find detailed instructions within this folder). All files have been scanned and checked for potential hazards so your computer is safe.

The antivirus software on my computer reports that some of the e-book is infected with a virus or trojan. What should I do?

First of all, the files are clean, and they don't contain any virus or Trojan.
Unfortunately, Antivirus programs are not perfect, and in many times they detect innocent software as infected with a Trojan or virus.
This problem is known as 'False Positive' or 'False Alert', and it's quite common in .exe files. The E-bookTG.exe file needs to be added your security exceptions list.

The Disc doesn't contain any executable file (with .exe extension) or any file called E-bookTG. What should I do?

A: Some firewall and Antivirus programs automatically block .exe files in order to protect your computer
from malicious programs. In order to be able to run the exe file, you must change your firewall/Antivirus settings.
Pause the protection so you can see the E-bookTG file on the disc then add to your security exceptions list.

When I try to run the e-book, I get the following error message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item". What is the problem?

A: This error message is usually displayed when Antivirus or Firewall block you from running the .exe file.
The E-book.exe file needs to be added your security exceptions list.
